To make your day admission as pleasant as possible, you will find practical information here. If you have any questions, feel free to approach our doctors, nurses, and staff members at the admission department or patient guidance service.

• For a surgical procedure in day admission, please check in at the day surgery reception desk. For a non-surgical day admission, proceed to the reception desk of the department where you will be staying. Please inform us in advance if you are unable to come. Learn more about your check-in process.
   
• Don't forget to bring the name and address of your general practitioner for your administrative records.

• Always bring your eID, KidsID, or ISI+ card with you to the UZA. This is important because it is the only way for us to apply the third-party payer system. With this system, you only pay your portion of the healthcare costs (co-payment), while other expenses are directly reimbursed by your health insurance fund. If you do not have your eID, KidsID, or ISI+ card with you at the hospital as of 01/01/2024, you will always be required to make an advance payment for medical services. Without the scanning of your eID, ISI+ card, or KidsID, the regulations no longer allow for the third-party payer system.

• It is also advisable to bring certain items for your medical records. Make sure to wear comfortable clothing and bring some reading material. You do not need to bring toiletries, towels, or washcloths.  Learn more about what you need to bring.
   
• If you have hospitalization insurance, it is best to inform your insurance provider prior to your admission.. 
   
• During a day admission, meals are not provided, but you will receive a drink and a cookie. You are welcome to bring your own food or purchase something from the dining options available at the UZA.
