Making, changing, or canceling appointments

How to schedule an appointment? Can you cancel it if something unexpected comes up? The answer to all your questions.

How do I make an appointment?

You can make your appointment by phone or at the service desk (for a subsequent consultation).

To make an appointment by phone, you can call from Monday to Friday between 8 am and 4:30 pm. Have your national identification number (see the back of your ID card) or BSN (for Dutch patients) ready when you call.

Please note:

  • For some consultations, you need a written referral letter from your doctor.
  • For examinations, you always need to bring a referral letter.

Find the phone number of a service here.

Book your appointment online

For some services, you can now book your appointment online:

  • Pediatrics
  • Orthopedics

! Make sure to book the appointment on the patient's personal account. After booking, you will receive a confirmation email.

You can also cancel consultations online. To cancel planned examinations or procedures, please call (you will notice that you cannot cancel them online).

If you have an appointment at another medical service, you still need to make, change, or cancel your appointment by phone through the medical service. Soon, online appointment booking will become available for more and more services.

Canceling/changing an appointment

If, for some reason, a scheduled appointment is not feasible for you, be sure to inform the service (by phone) to cancel and/or reschedule the appointment.

Not cancelled appointments for consultations can be charged at €22.40. Missed appointments for day hospitalizations, sleep laboratory examinations, and procedures can be charged at €56.

Closing days

The consultations at UZA are closed during the weekend, on these public holidays, and on bridge days.
