Public transport
The UZA is easily accessible by public transport.
Train
Take the train to Antwerp-Central Station or Antwerp-Berchem Station.
You can look up the train schedule on the NMBS website.
From the station, you can continue your journey to the UZA by bike, taxi, or bus.
Train > bike > UZA
From the station, you can come to the UZA by (rental) bike.

Train > taxi > UZA
From the station, you can also take a taxi to the UZA.

Train > bus > UZA
From the station, you can also take the bus to the UZA. Take one of the following bus lines:
Bus 17 from Antwerp-Central Station
- Take the direct bus line 17 to the UZA. .
- The travel time is approximately 30 minutes.
Bus 21 from Antwerp-Berchem Station with transfer
- There is no direct bus line from Antwerp-Berchem Station. You will have to transfer.
- Take bus line 21 to Wilrijk Bist and transfer to bus line 17, 22, 140, or 141 to the UZA.
- The travel time is approximately 35 minutes, but transfers can cause delays.
Bus
You can look up the bus schedule on the De Lijn website.
The following lines stop at the UZA:
- Line 17 > Rijnkaai – Central Station – Wilrijk Bist – UZA
- Line 22 > Groenplaats – Wilrijk Valaar, Bist – UZA
- Line 130 > Lier – Lint - Kontich – Edegem – Wilrijk Universiteitsplein
- Line 131 > Lier – Kontich Scholen – Edegem – Wilrijk Universiteitsplein
- Line 135 > Lier – Kontich – Edegem – Wilrijk Universiteitsplein
- Line 140 and 141 > Wijnegem – Wommelgem – Borsbeek – Mortsel – Edegem – Wilrijk Universiteitsplein, Bist – Hoboken
You can easily transfer to one of these bus lines at the Wilrijk Bist junction.
Bus platforms at the UZA
There are two bus stops at the UZA.
Looking at the entrance of the UZA, you will find:
- platforms on the right: lines 17 and 22 (Wilrijk Bist and Antwerp)
- platforms on the left: lines 130, 131, 135, 140 and 141 (Edegem, Mortsel, Wijnegem, Kontich, Lier, Wilrijk and Hoboken)
Weelchairs
You can borrow a weelchair:
- near the kiss and ride zone at the main entrance of the UZA
- in the entrance hall of the UZA
You only need a 2-euro coin, which you will get back when you return the weelchair.
