Every month, we delve into a topical theme with inspiring presentations and interactive Q&As on cutting-edge research, innovative methodologies and multidisciplinary collaborations. The Lunch & Learn sessions are aimed at researchers, clinicians, nurses and academic professionals who want to enrich their expertise and expand their network. 

Our ambition is to build the sessions with you into a permanent fixture within our academic and clinical ecosystem to stimulate curiosity, inspire and thus foster collaborations.

Update on infectious diseases: recent Ebola and Hantavirus outbreaks

Programme

During this UZA Lunch & Learn session, Prof. Erika Vlieghe will provide an up-to-date overview of recent international infectious disease outbreaks, with particular attention to Ebola and Hantavirus. Using recent case studies and epidemiological developments, the session will address transmission, clinical presentation, diagnostics, prevention, and the broader impact on healthcare systems.

This session offers an accessible update for healthcare professionals and interested researchers who wish to deepen their knowledge of emerging infectious diseases and gain insight into the challenges of global infectious disease outbreaks in a rapidly changing context.
