How much does a COVID test cost?

A COVID test for travellers costs €50. You pay for the test on the spot with Bancontact, credit card or Payconiq. There is no RIZIV-INAMI reimbursement.

If you have not yet had the chance to get vaccinated, you can request two free PCR tests from July 1 to the end of September for any reason (e.g., travel, festival). Anyone between 6 and 17 years old gets those two free tests in any case. From the age of 18, you get two tests for free, unless you already had the chance to be vaccinated.

How it works:

  1. Request a code that you can download at www.mijngezondheid.be Please note, that code is only valid for ten days.
  2. Make an appointment at the test point and bring the code.

We strive to make the result of your test available as quickly as possible, specifically within 24-36 hours after taking the test. However, this lead time is indicative and is not binding for the partners of TravelTest or the laboratories. In exceptional cases, there may be a delay or the person concerned may be asked to have a new sample taken because the quality of the investigation cannot be guaranteed due to a technical or analytical problem. The partners of TravelTest or the laboratories cannot guarantee the speed at which the results will be available. When taking the tests, you accept that the time period within which we strive to deliver the result constitutes an obligation of means only and not an obligation of results. If you want to exclude all risk of not receiving the test results, or a delay in receiving them, please be aware that other test methods are possible that provide a faster result (the so-called 'quick testing').  Locations where these can be taken include the national airport in Zaventem, but not the TravelTest points. Under no circumstances can the partners of TravelTest or the laboratories be held responsible or liable for reimbursement of any losses due to non-receipt or late receipt the results of the test, with the exception of damage caused by intent or gross negligence. Even if the test results are not available via the official website mentioned above or if a retest is required, the person concerned cannot claim damages. The partners of TravelTest or the laboratories cannot be held responsible or liable for reimbursement of intangible, indirect or consequential damage, including (but not limited to) loss of profit, loss of sales, loss of income, production limitations, administration or personnel costs, increased general costs, loss of clientele or receivables from third parties, except in cases that the damage has been caused by their intent or gross negligence. Under no circumstances can the partners of TravelTest or the laboratories be obliged to pay compensation that is higher than the fee(s) paid to UZA for taking the test.

Telecovid: remote health monitoring

Have you just been tested for COVID-19 to travel abroad, or to attend a festival? Even with a negative test, it is important to continue to report symptoms quickly and in an accessible way. This way, a possible further spread of the virus can be slowed down in time.

You can ask for health monitoring by UZA. To do so, register with Telecovid via telecovid [at] uza [dot] be (please state your name, first name, date of birth and mobile phone number). With Telecovid, the UZA can remotely monitor your health condition with a digital diary. On the digital platform you fill in a short questionnaire every day. A medical team from UZA monitors your answers and provides guidance if symptoms persist or get worse. They can also give you advice on how to treat the symptoms. All information is treated with strict confidentiality and only the follow-up team has access to your details. This offer is free of charge for travellers and festival goers. Together we are working to continue the fight against the virus.
